When is the last time that you felt completely alone and forgotten? Have you ever felt like you could disappear, and no one would notice until they realized your responsibilities weren’t being taken care of? I know that I have felt this way at times.
A few months ago I was telling someone about something funny that happened. About one minute (if that) into me talking, I noticed that this person stopped paying attention to what I was saying. I stopped right in the middle of my sentence, and this person never noticed. I felt crushed.
This is a person in my life who means a great deal to me. This has happened several times with this person over the years, and I struggle not to let it affect me so much when it happens. When it happened again a few months ago, something different happened this time. When I stopped talking (and this person never noticed), I heard God speak something to my heart.
I heard Him say, “I heard you”. I cannot tell you how much that moment meant to me!
This reminded me of Psalm 139:1-6:
“You have searched me, LORD, and You know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; You perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; You are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue You, LORD, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and You lay Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.”
God knows us intimately. He never forgets us. God knows us better than anyone. He knows us better than our mothers, fathers, spouses, and even ourselves. He never forgets you.
When you feel as though the world has stomped all over your heart, God knows how much it hurt you. He’s waiting for you to sit down by His feet, so He can minister to you.
God knows you better than anyone, and He accepts you! Psalm 56:8 says, “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in Your book.”
No tear that we have ever shed goes unnoticed by Him. Praise Jesus that we have such a loving God who knows (and deeply cares about) every detail of our lives.
Jesus, thank you for being so intimately involved in my life! Thank you for caring so tenderly for my heart. You know each tear that I shed and each situation that “stings” me that goes unnoticed by everyone else. You are an awesome God who is my perfect Lord, Savior, and best friend!
